Job Description: The Organist, through close collaboration with the Director of Traditional Music, is an integral component in the development of inspirational, motivational, meaningful, and well-planned services to the Glory of God, the ministry of Stonybrook, and the spiritual growth of the congregation. The Organist is encouraged to use his/her artistic license and professional knowledge to create a musical atmosphere conducive to the enhancement of the worship experience.

The Organist provides prelude, offertory, and postlude music for traditional Music services, along with leading hymns and other service music as needed. On occasion the organ also accompanies the Chancel Choir. The Organist also provides organ accompaniment for weddings/funerals (as personal schedule permits), with remuneration at a rate established by Church policy.

The Organist plays at two traditional services from September through May and at one service from June through August. While the Organist may be asked to accompany the Chancel Choir on occasion, this position does not include regular participation in the weekly choir rehearsal. Four days of paid time off are included with the position, and the salary is $14,000.
